Goodies come and goodies go – these you’ll remember.
Now, ‘goodies’ come and ‘goodies’ go but these will rank up
there with some of the best I’ve ever given you!
#1) DVD Flick!
Have you ever wanted to take some video’s that you have, or
maybe some home movies that you’ve made, and put them on a
DVD that you could then watch on a DVD Player?
Me too!
So I found an excellent solution for both of us.
Here’s a web address where you can pick up a copy of a nifty
f.r.e.e. software that will make ‘TV-playable’ DVD’s in just
seconds. It’s totally f.r.e.e. too!
==> http://www.dvdflick.net/download.php
There is an Install Guide right on their website that is
very detailed.
If video is your thing, there are a couple dozen video’s on
YouTube that are also very detailed.
There are some ‘settings’ that need to be set a certain way
in the software in order for you to receive the results you
are looking for.
I found the On-site Guide very easy to understand.
I hope you enjoy this like I have.

#2) I have told you about this one before but, after playing
around with my copy for about two hours over the weekend, I
find myself thoroughly impressed again.
I had a partner for a project 3 years ago that had purchased
a license for me for a copy of PhotoShop that he owned.
We installed it on my main computer in my office at that time
and I used it regularly to make page headers and footer, fix
photo’s and build ebook covers etc…
Well, my buddy moved away about a year and a half ago down to
Tahiti and about 6 months ago my main office computer crashed.
- figures right?
Well, I own PaintShop Pro and two other desktop publishers,
but none of them or any of the other’s I’ve tried are what
PhotoShop was to me… Until now.
That’s correct, I found at that time and am still using today,
a replacement that I have become very fond of. As a matter
of fact I LIKE THE REPLACEMENT ‘MORE’ THAN PHOTOSHOP.
That is correct – I really do.
The ‘replacement’ that I am now using is called ‘GIMP’!
I know, it is a rather peculiar name -but- it does absolutely
everything I used to do with PhotoShop -and- I have been able
to find some excellent video’s on YouTube that have shown me
how to do some things I never learned how to do with PhotoShop.
It’s a lot simpler to learn how to use too.
Here’s a link for the website right here:
YOU are going to love GIMP! – that’s a promise from me to you.

#3) Have you ever been watching one of those cool screen cast
desktop video’s someone has done with Camtasia or some other
program just like it, and seen an icon on their desktop that looks
like a ‘red dog that has gone splat on your car windshield’?
Well that icon belongs to another really neat Open Source
image manipulation program call IrfanView – I know, another
weird name, what can I say.
With this one you can actually even edit .jpeg and .gif images
that are animated, play movies and sounds and a whole lot
more.
Take a look today – this is one you are going to want too:
There are even f.r.e.e. Plug-ins and Add-on’s available, don’t
you just love ‘open source goodies’!
– OK, that’s it, the red bag is empty and the reindeer want to
head for home – it’s time for some Schnapps and in to a warm
bed for me, I think I might feel the beginnings of a cold
coming on….
Take care,
- Garrett
